Hey, geeze its been forever since I've blogged, and even longer since I've been on livejournal. I remember back in the day I used to be what kept this thing alive, and now I forgot it even existed. So Family Time with Larry and Cathy have their first show tomorrow. I'm really excited, I think its going to be awesome. This is the first show I've ever done at like a real venue. All of the other shows we've done have been at churchs and stuff like that. I'm excited, even though the Pinkeye isn't the best venue, at least its legit (too legit to quit).
I do have to say one thing though, I miss playing with EX_R. If there were any 4 musicians that I could choose to play with for my entire life, it would be Exceeding Rubicon. Not that I'm saying I don't love Family Time, but theres just some connection that EX_R has that has been formed over years of friendship, and it comes out in the music and song writing. Like in Family Time we practice all the time, like twice a week, but I feel like we get so little done because we arn't connected like EX_R is. See Exceeding Rubicon can have one practice every 6 months and get 3 new songs down perfectly. Quite a difference. I know that its because of all the time we've spent knowing each other as friends and as musicians, which is a direct result of playing together in the Ignition worship band (except for James). I think if we all played in a worship band at some church we would become a lot more solid. I believe it has something to do with the fact that worship music is so simply and that you practice and perform at least once a week that brings the band together. Not to mention that the focus is on something far greater than yourself. Luke the Elder and I were discussing this today on the ride back from practice and formulating if it was possible for this to happen. I would drop everything at my church (which is nothing, since I'm not involved), and go to whereever we could lead worship together. Problem is, Luke the Elder is the youth pastor at his church and Luke the Conqueror as the worship leader at his. Maybe we can work something out in the future.
So next year I'm going to be an Event Coordinator on missions staff! I know that means nothing to any of you, but I was an Event Assitant this year and the Coordinators are in charge of all of the Assitants. This could also mean that I will be on strategy staff, which means that you pretty much help make the big decisions in the program, like who the team leaders are and where they are assigned, as well as who goes on what trip. Another perk to being on stategy staff is that I would get a lower lot pass!!! that would be incredible. Alright, well I did my thing. I love livejournal so much more than xanga.
